- 1/4 cup butter
- 4 medium Bartlett pears, pitted and quartered
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Drambuie or Bourbon (optional)
- Vanilla ice cream, as a garnish
Directions:
- In a large sauté pan over medium heat, melt the butter and then add the pears, cut-side down; cook until slightly golden brown, about 5 minutes.
- Add brown sugar and continue cooking until caramelized, another 5 minutes. Add the Drambuie or Bourbon and continue for 5 more minutes.
- Plate pears, garnish with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce.
